
When I was a kid, my bedroom walls were covered with movie posters. Other kids may have had posters of their favourite bands or athletes, but not me – it was all about movies. Even ones I hadn’t seen yet, but I knew what they were about from the images in front of me. It wasn’t just a piece of advertising collateral, it was a gateway to the experience you would have when watching that movie.
In my time with the Milton Players Theatre Group, I made an intentional decision to create posters that gave the audiences a glimpse of what they were going to get when they bought a ticket. I ensured the actors were represented, so audiences could see something relatable, and created a vibe that inspired people to buy tickets. From murder mysteries to farce, a poster image has the power to capture the essence of a show, and inspire audiences to come and see it. Please scroll through some of my work below:
